Puppy Training

Puppy training is a MUST for any dog because they need to learn how to live in human environment such as houses or apartments. The main purpose of the training is to create a bridge of communication between human and dog.


The first and most important puppy training that you should give your puppy is house training or house breaking. If you house train your puppy well, your puppy will less likely cause accidents in your house and you will also be able to live peacefully.


The house training includes Potty Training a Puppy, Crate Training a Puppy and basic Puppy Obedience Training.


After your puppy has successfully house broken, you may continue with other trainings like advance Dog obedience training, agility training, dog clicker training and more.

Free Puppy Training Tips

Basically when puppy is old enough (8 weeks old) and you can start to train the moment you bring him home.

Elimination spot
If you are living in an apartment, the elimination spot could be at the corner of your room with old newspaper covered (paper training). If you prefer, you can buy a litter box for it to eliminate (litter box training). If you are living in a landed house that has a backyard, you may mark any suitable location that you prefer.


Dog Crates
There are many types of dog crates that are available in the market. You can choose any style that you prefer but the size of the dog crate must be at least two times the size of the puppy so that he has his own spaces inside. But the crate should not be too big until he uses part of the free area as elimination area.


House Training Commands
Some of the basic dog commands that you can make use at this moment are "Potty Time", "Go Potty", "Get Busy", "Come", "Sit", "Bed Time". You may learn other commands later when you want to enhance the dog training.


Dog Food and Dog Treat
Consult your dog breeder or veterinarian to ensure that you are giving your puppy or dog the proper diet.


Dog Collar and Leash
This is to prepare your puppy to the dog obedience puppy training. This is especially useful if you are bringing your puppy outside to eliminate.


Dog Toys
Some dog toys are placed inside the crate to make the puppy feel like home. Example: Rubber bones.

You need to design your house training schedule for your puppy so that you will be more organized and consistent. With a routine schedule, your puppy will be more likely know what to expect from you.
